Company History |
In 1972, Mike Narey founded Quality Mat Company, Inc. and was an exclusive
on-site refinisher of wrestling mats. Quality Mat Company, Inc. began
manufacturing mats of expanded poly vinyl chloride in 1985 using Uniroyal
foams.
The company developed an exclusive "seam bonding" technology
that proved to be revolutionary. During the same time, an innovative "hot
spray" application of the vinyl finish was created to insure a complete melding
of foam and vinyl - guaranteeing a more durable surface. These revolutionary
manufacturing processes are still employed today.
In 1987, the company
moved to its present 100,000 square feet manufacturing and warehousing
facility. The new facility includes state of the art heated floors, to better
cure new and reconditioned mats, as well as a proprietary explosion proof
environment. In 1996, the company was incorporated into the Quality Mat
Company, Inc. A collaborative effort with Armacell foam began in 2000, to
develop a superior wrestling mat material that we call the Quality 3025 (1
¼"). We continue this collaboration with Armacell to provide safer and
more durable mats.
We continue to improve techniques and materials that
provide a superior product that provides safety and protection to the athletes
of wrestling. There is NO mat manufactured anywhere that exceeds the protective
qualities of the "Quality 3025" (1 ¼"). As a company, we are proud to
support the sport and the athletes in their pursuit of wrestling
